Francis Walter Dam preparing for Isaias
| Big rains are coming! Our beautiful Bear Creek lake dumps into the Francis Walter Reservoir a few miles down-river. And tonight that reservoir is busy emptying itself so it can store flood waters that are anticipated from Tropical Storm Isaias. Our whitewater boating friends are ecstatic. Local whitewater rivers and stream are likely to be at multi-year highs by this time tomorrow. And one of our favorite hiking trails (the nearby Seven Tubs Trail) should have stunning views of a turbulent stream coarsing through a constricted canyon. Great photo ops for our visitors over the next few days! |
