Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm Harvest Festival

Our Mission –
Preserving Pennsylvania’s Agricultural Heritage

Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm, is a non-profit, living history museum preserving 19th century Pennsylvania German agricultural heritage. Period dressed interpreters portray descendants of Johann Depper, re-enacting daily life on the farm.

Nestled in the Pocono Mountain on 114 acres of beautiful pastures, woodlands and streams, Quiet Valley hosts all the farm animals typically found in the 1800s.  Rabbits, chickens, ducks, geese, cows, pigs, goats, sheep, a mule and Clydesdale draft horses live on the homestead. The buildings include an 1850s bank barn, the original farmhouse, a cabin, spring house, ice house, smokehouse, dry house and assorted smaller barns. Quiet Valley is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

There will also be plenty of folk entertainment, good country food made by hand, children’s activities, pumpkin decorating, a quilt raffle, pony rides, horse drawn wagon rides, one room schoolhouse presentations, outdoor brick bake oven and much more. The 2018 theme, Living Off the Land, will bring a variety of new offerings to the event. A special children’s area will offer hands-on opportunities for the young folk to try old fashion crafts and activities. Both the PA 142nd Volunteer Infantry Company G Civil War re-enactors and the NJ Frontier Guard who portray French and Indian War soldiers will be encamped on the farm.
This event is great fun for all ages.
